About this Site
I originally started this site in 2007 as a service to update residents of Emerald Hills on real estate trends, new listings, home sales, and generally what’s happening just in Emerald Hills. The actual Emerald Hills boundary, as defined by San Mateo County, can be found under the tab “Emerald Hills Defined” at the top of the blog.
As time passed and the site gained readers, I started fielding questions about properties in the Farm Hill Estates Area — this makes sense, since Farm Hills Estates is the area (approximately) between Farm Hill Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue. It shares a border with Emerald Hills, and frankly many people mistakenly refer to it as part of Emerald Hills. Not surprising, since both areas share the same K-8 school, and they’re both situated on the same “hill”.
To accommodate this, In 2008 I decided to expand the real estate area covered in this site to include Farm Hill Estates – I combined both together, and I generally refer to them as “Emerald Hills” to make it more convenient for home buyers. After all, if you’re shopping for a home on the hill, you’re definitely going to look in both areas! But it’s important to know that the Listing and Sold data for both regions are combined together in the weekly “What Sold and What’s New” article, as well as in the MLS Home Search that’s posted on the site. If you have your eye on a particular home in this area, be sure to confirm which of the two areas it resides in — I can definitely help you with this.
A final note…This site is 100% informational, and is not a revenue generator for me. Consequently, there is not a single advertisement to be found on the site. So click away on anything you find interesting. Also, if you decide to email me or subscribe to the blog via email, rest assured that I keep your email address private, and will NEVER release it to a 3rd party — nor will I bother you with unnecessary email. I hate spam, and I’m sure you do too!
